Mean Loach

I have three clown loaches in my tank. Two I bought at the same time, and a smaller one I bought like 4 months later. One of the first two loaches I bought likes to take over the tank ... and by that I mean he chases the other two away when he wants to be alone, or especially when it's feeding time. He won't let the other two loaches eat at the same time he does. Is this common with loaches? Do loaches have "alpha males" to where the others have to eat after the main one is finished? If someone knows, please let me know.

ps - they do get along most of the time, just during feeding and early in the morning.
