Clicking skunks

For the first time, I've witnessed aggressive clicking between two loaches when no food is about. My new pair of tiny skunks have been having some relatively gentle turf wars over two piles of rocks and the spot behind the CO2 injector, which is prized by both. I was watching them this afternoon, and noticed a couple of sudden exchanges with very rapid clicking. They aren't making contact with each other when this happens - just making the noise.
I know a lot of you have had modestas and other territorial loaches that exhibit the same kind of behaviour, but for me it was a first. It's much more rapid than when they're eating. Quite good value, actually.
