Snail Problem

Hi,
I have guppies, mollies, tetras and chinese algae eaters in my tank.
I also have a huge snail problem and have heard that certain loaches eat snails.
According to some other resources on the net loaches can be aggressive towards guppies, mollies and tetras, is this true?
I refuse to use chemicals to kill the snails and jepodise the lives of my fish.
I have also tried a home made snail trap which works but doesn't really do the trick.
What loaches would you recomend that would not bring harm to my other fish and only eat the snails?

Cheers,
