rescued weather loach

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice?
This isn't strictly about goldfsih, it's about a weather loach, but I hope someone can still help.

Here is the back ground. Thursday last week my Dad emptied my parents pond. They moved into the house a year ago and have never seen any fish in the pond. They waited for all the tadpoles to develop legs and hop away and then decided to empty the pond and move it, in time for next years' breeding season.

On Saturday morning Mum spotted a very strange looking creature lying where the pond once was. It was very dry, but still alive, we'd had a lot of rain. Dad quickly got a bucket of water and some soil from the old pond and put it in and luckily the animal seemed to make a full recovery. Yesterday our LFS identified i
