Dojo tank size?

I'm sure this has been covered before (I did search, but didn't find it covered), but for the standard LFS dojo loach (M. anguillicaudatus) what's an OK tank size for a pair of loaches?

I don't want to cramp them, but I also only have a 29 gallon tank and a 30 gallon long (36" long) as possible homes.

I was thinking of a pair of them in with a paradise fish, unheated tank (although the house stays 68 to 78 degrees depending on the season) and perhaps a small group of white clouds.

Then again, if the tanks are too small, any other suggestions for similar types of loaches (I like the eelish look) that are a bit more out and about than kuhlis?

Thanks,

Eric
