Ok, I've been jerking you guys around for long enough. Here it is.............

Its title is "Wooden It Be Nice"

OK, enough of yanking your chains (payback for T-shirt hassle ;) )..... that's just the base. About half of a piece of bogwood from Big Als that cost around $3.50 (enough left for another "project") and a wood base from a Dollar store. Bit of hot glue squirted from a gun bought at the same $ store.....priceless. Several coats of polyurethane on the wood.
So what mounts on this base?
This.........

It's made of 3 pieces of 3/4" MDF board glued together, then cut, filed and sanded to shape. The pectorals, pelvics and anal fin are metal cut from a Tuna can lid. The pale grey is car body filler. The eyes are blobs of hot glue.

Barbels are cut from a white plastic cable tie.
I wanted plenty of "movement" in the fish, hence all the curves in the fins and body.

It's a fatty like all cool Chromobotia :)

So, slap on a bit of acrylic paint.........

......and you get this..........
![]()
......and the whole thing, with painted base and glued on polished black pebbles ($ store again!) and you have what I entitle "Alpha", the big boss loach.........

Lot of work.....lot of sawdust! I've already got an idea for using the other piece of Bogwood as a base for something else. Probably two fish next time.
Martin.
